A Bright Shiny Future!!

Wondir’s Future: What Would YOU Like To See?

* Note: Yes, I’m still working on the Wondir Blogging Article. So Don’t GRIPE!

As recent poster asked if some of us could add a little input to an article he is writing for the New York Times about Community Search Engines like Wondir or the old Google Answers.

Now what I’d like readers here to do is make this the longest and thread Blogger has ever seen.

Imagine a year down the road, two years down the road, even five years down the road. How would YOU see Wondir? What improvements would you like to see? What features would you like to see? Got a category you want added?

Well this is YOUR chance to add to the Wondir that is Wondir! Voice your opinion!

Tell me what you’d like to see added to, taken away from or enhanced at Wondir!

Want a better WIM? Want more Moderators? Want better filtering? Want better category placement? Voice your opinion!

Tell me what you want and I’ll see it gets to the guys that count!

Make a good plea for what you want and why you see it as needed on Wondir and I’ll back you up. If you think it’s a good idea to have at Wondir let me know, I’ll probably agree with you. But if you don’t voice your opinion you’ll never get heard.

So post what you like here or feel free to email me at BondHunter@gmail.com and I’ll pass it on to the staff at Wondir?

Now we all know there’s things we would love to see either added or updated on Wondir! This is your chance…maybe your last chance…why not post a suggestion or two, or a whole page!!!
Don’t be shy, aim for the bull’s-eye!!

Tell them what you REALLY think needs to be updated! I know these people listen.

If you want it, suggest it. If you want it and DON’T suggest it, then please don’t be one of the first to complain when it isn’t set up. Trust me, Wondir listens to it’s users and regulars. So, VENT, SUGGEST, OFFER IDEAS!

Till later…Bond Hunter over and out…love you all! Be Happy, Be Safe, but MOST of all…BE YOURSELF!!!

Hi Ken,

The 2 things I would like to see incorporated into Wondir's answer engine are:

1) An automatic HTML link to URLs when questioners are referred to other websites for more information.

2) The opportunity to paragraph questions and answers rather than have a continuous stream of text.

It would be wonderful to have the ability to sent a link, in a WIM and have the page open in a new window that you and the questioner can both see. This was a feature on the GlobeAlive site and it was great.

A second thing I would like to see at Wondir would be a filtering system that picks up the fact that the same question has been asked and then refuses the question but instead it shows the responses to the question originally asked. That way we won't be buried in the same question over and over again and if the answer is not what the questioner had in mind they can rethink how to phrase their question so it gets answered in a manner they like.
I would also like to have a place on Wondir that I could go to view all of my answers. Not just the questions I've asked but the thousands I've answered.

Hi Ken,

I would really like to see a box that we could type in the question ID # into and the question and answer would come up, on questions that we would like to keep track of, rather than go into our private account and search for them.

I'd also like to see some way for a moderator to keep track of the troublemakers, maybe a moderator alert that could come up on the screen... the identity of the user and the Question # could be available to the moderators so that they can be kept track of, to keep the abuse down. This would help in keeping the site clean for all users. I know this is a lot to ask, so I don't expect to really see anything like this.

I'd also, as John suggested, like to see the questions phrased in paragraph form for ease of reading.

Seems like most the time I get on the all catagories question board, there's always a maintenance notice, and I delete my cookies all the time. Is there something up with the site or something else.

It would be great if when a member were suspended, that the registered e-mail address would be blocked as well. I know it is easy to get a new address from somewhere like hotmail, but I think it would cut down on people who get suspended just signing right back up.

I would also like it if only one Wondir ID could be affiliated with one e-mail address. I know of members who have multiple Wondir IDs all registered with the same e-mail address. I think this may cut down on some monkey business as well.

I would like to see a Relationships category with sub-categories for Family, Friends, Teens, Adults.

As a moderator, I would like to know if there are other moderators on the board at the same time as I. I have chosen to stay anonymous on the board on which I moderate, and others may want to remain anonymous as well. Therefore, it could be just a box that everyone could see that says there is one, or two, or three moderators online for the given board. I feel a responsibility for the board and if I could log on and see if at least one person were on, I could relax a little. I think if users could see that someone was on that they may behave better as well. ;-)

I would hope that the Admin Site logs moderators logins. There has been some crazy stuff happening on the board that I help moderate in that it appears that a moderator is being a little nutty. It would be helpful if Wondir could view what moderators logged in when, for how long, etcetera and try to track down who may be contributing to commotion. (I know this would not be conclusive information as I sometimes login and stay logged in even when I am not in front of the computer helping keep the board clean, but it would surely give some clues.)

I am actually not a fan of the text being broken up into paragraphs. I love the clean, blocked look for both the question board and the answer screen. Each answer is in a block by itself and is so easy to find users, see their answers, etcetera. I am, however, a fan of having a link in the answer.

Most importantly, there must be a way to cut down on the repeat questions. I have an idea that being able to type in questions from another site for them to appear over on a Wondir question board contributes to the problem. I like mhardenbrook's ideas on this.

On the Admin Site, I would like the ability to plug in a Wondir ID and see all the user's questions and answers. (Sometimes I see a post complaining about another user. I end up searching every single question and answer looking for that user's offensive post. If another moderator got to it, then I can search for it and never find it!)

When logged in as a moderator, some right-click features would be great. From the Wondir site, it would be great if I could right-click on a question and choose to recategorize, then be offered the categories, and select. I could buzz right down the board and get stuff in the proper categories.

I love Wondir and am constantly thinking of little tweaks that would make it a bit easier to use. Thank you for a place to say it. I always enjoy your answers BondHunter!!

yes, I agree, I would also like to know when there are other moderators on board. There was a moderator on recently that was blocking every single question put up by a registered user!! Whilst this use has been a little contraversail in the past, they are still entilited to their opinions, after all, isn't that one of the things that Wondir is all about!! Although the majority of moderators take their seriously, their will always will be the odd rogue one so if we could see who is moderating at any one time, this sort of unfair behaviour could be stamped.

1.) I would also like to see an HTML like when typing in URLs for other websites.

2.) The ability to somehow format our answers is much needed. The way it is now is fine if your answer is short or isn't very detailed but otherwise the continous stream of text isn't something I want to read.

3.) When questions are rejected or deleted it would be nice if they actually disappeared. It's kind of annoying to want to answer a question only to find out that it's no longer available.

4.) How about some contests that can actually be won by people who aren't online 24/7 and have a life? It's kind of discouraging to bother when you see the same dozen or so names in every newsletter.

5.) It seems a lot of problem users are from Answerbus or are guests. How about limiting how many times and/or where they can post without registering? Have a category for unregistered users if that makes it easier to control it.

6.) An option to preview your message and spellcheck it before sending would also be very nice.

I think it's all right if a user has more than one user name. It's not necessarily abuse of the system; I like to ask and answer different questions with different user names sometimes. I don't agree that web addresses should be blocked, because sometimes multiple users will have the same web address, so if you block one, you block them all, regardless of whether one username is good and another username is abusive.I think that there should be a Bible Study category set up for those who only want to discuss Christianity. It also would be nice to have temporary categories for fad phenomena like the Harry Potter craze. That way, users would not feel as if they were forced out of their regular categories due to a barrage of fad questions. The category could be phased out after a month or two. It would be nice to find an easier way to track questions; one way that I've found helpful is to change my category to the specific category that the question was posted in. For instance, if I saw a question posted under Science and Mathematics, I'll switch to the Science and Mathematics category, and the question will be easy to find again. I think that Wondir regulars are pretty good at warning other users when they're nearing the line of abuse, and they know when to report abuse, so the moderators needn't worry so much about posts that complain about other users---if the user is really that abusive, someone will report it.

Perhaps someone could enlighten me.

I personally can see know reason why an individual needs to have more than one ID when answering questions on a Q&A site.

For several years I have been a subscriber to these sites and have always used the same ID. The only exception is Pointask where I use John Brooks. This is due to an error.

Anyone can visit all other Q&A sites I use/have used and find me
signed in as plutus1947.

On one site where I answer questions (although very rarely), multiple IDs appear to be the norm.

Rightly or wrongly when I know someone is using multiple IDs I am suspicious as to the reason why.

Having only found Wondir a few weeks ago I'm loath to make suggestions.
I agree with the posts above concerning a "filter"to spot fads (like H*rry P*tt*r!!!) and divert them to a special section.
I've also noticed that e-mails I get as follow ups to my answers are truncated, the text is just stopped after 4-5 lines and I can't figure out how to see it.
Would it be possible for Moderators to intervene when "What is most" type non-sequiturs appear, they clog the system and only invite ridicule.

1)Yellow Stars- Maybe, a Category to have other users review an answer, if you feel a user gave us an unfair score. Separate section or category to allow other users to comment or re-score an answer, and comment from the user scoring us, as to why it was/not helpful. Users/questioner name scoring answers would be a nice addition.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
2)Wondir could add another rating selection, like neutral/average/useful help. Because, you need category for useful information, but exactly the information user was seeking. I feel it’s hurtful when I see, I’ve been scored not helpful and I got information from a legitimate source on the net.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
3)Add, a button for answering user 2 click, says unbiased opinion. This button would only allow answerer to see score of un-helpful rating instead of listing/posting in user’s profile. Or a sent email with the result from the user who gave us the rating. Or if we selected the button marked unbiased opinion, we couldn’t be rated unless it was a helpful answer. See some users ask questions like, how do you feel about ___ or what would you do ___? I feel these type questions are our own opinions/feelings and shouldn’t be scored! Not to mention, if we answer honestly and they don’t agree with our opinions they give a score of unhelpful. I think that it’s totally unfair and extremely hurtful.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
4)A better WIM, that won’t disconnect internet for long usage time. Many times while using WIM I’ve been abruptly disconnected without warning, this never happens unless I’m using the WIM! I feel it’s annoying and disrupting for both wondir users, plus it sends a message to the user still online, that user is unavailable and that’s confusing to them and upsetting too. Especially, if the other user has not heard your response, they may get the idea, they were left hanging and un-answered or maybe even angry! When we had no fault to being disconnected.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
5)Maybe, a frequent user forum, for chatting with Wondir friends.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
6)Another great addition, registered user button on the top menu bar, tells us who’s online now! Or a light next to registered user or name color change that specifies whose online now!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
7)Maybe, an inbox in own profile or ‘my wondir’ that alerts us we’ve been asked a question and it’s been sent via email. But, we could access it on Wondir, instead of opening another browser and checking emails sent while we were online. See when I’m online-Wondir, I don’t have my email box open and if a ‘guest user’ asks me a question and I don’t answer it timely while there on-line, they may think I was unhelpful or just was rude. OR a number amount of sent questions thru email. So we no questions are being asked and need answering. How, am I to know questions have been asked of me via email if I’m not opening and checking emails constantly? I feel it’s a hassle for me to constantly check back and forth. If the a guest user asks a question and logs off and never returns, they never get the opportunity to see my answer and I might have spent time searching for the answer. (Plus, it a bit wasteful and time consuming!)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
8)Click-able links posted that opens an additional window to resource provided by the answerer of the question. I give allot of web resources while answering questions for further reading. Although, how many Internet users know to highlight and copy web-site and paste into browser?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
9)Also, maybe a spell check/suggestion word correction or Thesaurus. Not every-1 can spell and I feel answers and questions would be better understood if we were allowed/given grammar tools to use.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
10)Extended profile references. For instance, registered user favorites web sites or useful and helpful informational, with mini description of web site. I have so many that would help users, plus some really interesting extended sites too.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
11)Oh! I think, in the categories an Environmental category needs to added!! I feel with global warming and weather temperature changes happening now and into the future it’s going to be researched and questioned more. It needs its own category separate from the science category.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
12)Also, better tools for answering questions, bullets, separators etc… Instead, of continuous typing word after word.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
13)Add, a Harry Potter Category too. (OR) a just chatting teen category-- (Moderated constantly—Of course.) Since, its a teen chatting category...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(Please, excuse my grammar or spelling if I made mistakes…)
Thanks,
Stephanie V.N.S.—a.k.a.-Stephievns-(registered Wondir user since: February 27, 2005…
P.S. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to give suggestions! Have a great and Awesome Day!!! Xoxo-Stephie
(1) A spell check. I try to proofread everything I post, but I still make mistakes.
(2) The ability to delete and remove questions, rather than just making the question, "unavailable."
(3) The link for the URL, in my opinion, is unnecessary. Users can copy and paste the link into their browser.
(4) I like lorrec's suggestion of being able to track trouble makers. I often have to read post after post to find out what others users are complaining of. Sometimes I can't find the post because another moderator has already suspended the user.
(5) I find certain posts very offensive, particularly the ones concerning incest. There is one user I have suspended over and over. However, this person comes back and rephrases the question repeatedly. I need to know if I am too harsh.
(6) Tell the people at Wondir that they're doing a great job and provide a wonderful service.
Sincerely, ~~~shoes~~~
First i would like to say, that Wondir is a wonderful forum! It is very varied,to suit your every need.
But offcourse Wondir can be improved. I agree with the suggestions about how it should be easier to review your Q´s and A's in full. Its annoying to receive a long answer, and then only be able to read some of it..
Also it would help to be able to see your answers in full.
About competitions: yes,it seems a bit unfair if people win them only because they are able to be glued to their computers day and night..
Because I'm quite a recent member at Wondir I don´t know if there has been a competition about how helpful/imaginative/detailed answers the members write.In any case, that´s my suggestion.
I´m a bit put down by some of the comments about the "Harry Potter fad". But maybe its possible to make a "Fad Forum"? I just don't see any reason as to why such a popular niche should be limited to a month.Why not just let it take its own course? For true fans its great to know that you can Q.and A.exciting theories,or just find a place where people share your feelings about emotional themes!
Yours truly,Mumrikken
Overall I like Wondir a lot, but there are still some issues already suggested in this forum that would make it even better (like a spell check and ability to make paragraphs).
The biggest thing I'd like to see changed is the Harry Potter issue. Even though I've followed Wondir's suggestions to not include literature questions in My Catergories (which isn't really fair since I feel I could help people with other literature questions), I still have seen many Harry Potter questions appear in other catergories like Movies and teens. Unfortunately I think I have even seen questions that revealed the big thing that happens at the end ("why did _______ have to _______?") I STRONGLY reccommend a separate Harry Potter category.
Thanks,
So to keep it simple I am plainly dumb I guess when it comes to asking some questions as I constantly get told that "due to the content this will not be posted as it may ofend others" So I am told I should reword it to be more acceptable! WELL try as I might it still blocks my attempts to ask this question, now nothing in it was offensive to anyone in any way as far as I can see and I have answered over 1100 questions at this point and only once was told to not answer,Hey you can't please everyone huh?
So how about highlighting or underlining the word phrase or what ever sets off the( whats the word I want here) thing that refuses your question, So that you can rephrase it or whatever?
Otherwise I love Wondir and look forward to being on every day.
Better filtering as to what question go to what category. i.e.; pregnancy questions should good under just “pregnancy” not general “health”. Add another category about different diagnostic test and procedures one may have to endure. It’s a good chance that the answers received may put people as ease verses a patient being a’ basket case”, worried about the procedure. Simply because the procedure/exam wasn’t explain in a proper way.
Any one with a rude/ distasteful questions or answers should be warned that Wondir will not tolerate such behavior and be banned from Wondir.
I try and answered every question to the best of my ability from personal experiences and my 26 years I have practiced in the medical profession.
Hi,
I am quite new to Wondir, but quite enjoy the chance to possibly be helpful to someone.
The one thing that I would really like to see on the Question Board is a user name beside the questions asked. That would make it easier to see if someone has made an additional question or comment that we have already responded to, as well as spotting users who continuously ask questions--thus possibly abusing the system.
I hope that made sense.
I think Wondir should add a sub-category to the Health category for questions about female health issues like: pregnancies, periods, vaginal discharges, etc. It is time consuming and boring to have to go through all those questions for people who do nove any kind of female problems, nor answers to those questions.
Perhaps Wondir Usernames that are not used for a certain period of time (say, 60 days) should expire. I see a lot of people asking how to "close their account" with Wondir, and it would probably be reassuring to them to know that their "account" will expire if they stop using it---kind of like a hotmail account. In addition, I have registered friends and family members onto Wondir on my computer, using my email address. They haven't really taken to it for one reason or another, so it would be useful if their usernames and passwords would expire. This is why I have more than one username and password registered to my email address---there's no monkey business involved with this at all. I use a special email address to log on to Wondir so that I can give this address to other Wondir users if I want without affecting my primary email account or giving out enough information about myself that I can be located on a people-finding website. In addition, if I log into Wondir from this account, I always know when I have incoming Wondir emails, because they appear at the top of my screen. If I have problems with this account because I've posted my web address online, I can always delete it or let it expire without affecting my primary web access. The security and relative anonymity offered by Wondir as opposed to other, provider-based chatrooms is important to me.
Hi! I think when a math question is answered that the person giving the answer should have it worked out the way it should be worked out instead of just writing the answer down, because some of the answers to the questions seem pretty simple once people help others give them a jump start in how to work the problem out. I enjoy asking questions just to see if the answers that I got matches others at times, sometimes I'm wrong I admit,but no one is perfect, if at once you dont succeed keep trying because sweet victory will come, so I would say pretty much stay the same-but paragraphing the questions and answers a little better would help understand some of them better.
Thank-You
I think that people should each have their own page on wondir, something to work towards, they can only have it once they have answered a certain number of questions well, here they could have their favourite answer catagaries and have a few tips on it, say they were good at answering question on pets, they could write a bit about pets that people could reference when they were offline. This would mean that they could put key information for people to answer 24/7.
Also maybe sort the catagaries more efectively as there are sex/pregnancy questions in poems and stuff which can get annoying.
I would like to see Wondir move away from what has become a competition amongst those of us who just want to help other people with what we have been able to learn without any expectations in return. The integrity, essence, and motivation among those who want to give back as much if not more than they have been given should not be compromised by a rating system.
Personally I can do without the fastest to answer and things like that. I like having the total # of qeustions answered, it shows that a person has been on Wondir a long time and has a proven track record. As for ratings...well right now they seem to be a neccessary evil. It gives people an idea of how well a person respondes to a question. The problem I see is that it is being abused by some people who jsut rate you a zero if they disagree with you, I see it all the time. I'd like it set up where WGuest accounts can't rate people and you get to see who did rate you and at what level. I think that would knock off a lot of the crap that has been getting complaints.
I definitely agree with having a separate category for "question d'jour" fads like Harry Potter and other busy, but temporary, question trends. Also agree with some kind of keyword search feature to speed up the possibility of finding questions I can actually answer.
I admit it - I don't offend easily and almost never find questions "offensive," regardless of topic. Ones I find in bad taste, I simply ignore. What makes my teeth itch are the patently stupid and unanswerable ones. I'm not talking people who are sincere but ignorant and asking very basic questions; I'm talking the ones that don't make any sense at all and probably aren't intended to. When I see an "How much do I weigh?" I have to sit on my hands to resist the urge to post, "How the H**l should I know?!" Or my personal favorite, "My penis turned purple, what's wrong with me?" Each question has a link at the bottom saying, "this question isn't likely to offend anyone" and one that says "report abuse." How about adding a link that offers, "This question isn't likely to be understood by anyone" and if more than 5 people click it, the question vanishes? Ease some of the congestion and give the legitimate seekers a better chance of being found and answered?
I'd like to see on the Question Board.....a column showing what the member name was that asked the question, it shows date & category on left now, would be nice to see who asked it....for frequent users we would then recognize the member name.
Hi BondHunter:
Thx for all the kudos in your #3 edition. :-) A few more things have come to mind.
A search feature would be nice. I concur.
I would l-o-v-e to block a certain Wondir ID from my field of vision. That is such a great idea! I have actually stopped going to my regular board because the same people start the same stuff everyday. If I could "Ignore" a user or two, have his/her questions and answers filtered out, I would be clicking my heels all the way home! Love that idea.
Lastly, I think the rating system would become much more accurate if only the person who asked the question can rate the answer. Allowing everyone to rate anyone starts all the "Zero" ratings and blah, blah, blah. I am quite sure that most people do not understand how the rating system works. Seeing a bunch of "Zero"s after one's answers, must be discouraging when it is clearly from someone who has it out for the other person.
Again, I thank you and Wondir. Am looking forward to edition #4. :-) Take care.
People being booted need to stay booted, individuals coming back under alias and different user names only contributes to the problems on Wondir. I hope that's the reason why Wondir is confirming all e-mail addresses.
Sorry Bondhunter, I dis-agree with you on your view of the rating system, it stinks. You imply that it gives people an idea how others respond to a question, please explain how that's possible when chatters are rating each other with 5's and it has nothing to do with a question that was asked. That's not fair to those asking serious questions because it implies the serious answers are given when they are not.
As to the spelling problems, if Wondir can't or won't install a spell check than the viewers should be periodically informed of what ones are available on line, I personally use ieSpell.com for content boxes as Wondir uses.
I also like the idea of a search site installed on Wondir.
Thank you for allowing my input.
Good Morning,
Having registered a few days ago, here are a some sugestions I have that may be useful:
1) The vast bulk of the qustions I have seen thusfar indicate that, for the most part, users are inexpereinced in framing questions in a way that can elicit a useful esponse. Therefore, the Help pages could do a real service by showing examples of "good" and "poor" questions, and perhaps offering a tutorial to new users regarding the questioning process.
2) michelle's comments regarding filtering for repeated questions certainly has merit. Beyond this, however there it seems clear that there is a need to filter questions to direct them to the category most applicable to their interest. This could easily be done by requring the questioner to head his/her question with a category name, identified easily by a tag using "{CATEGORY NAME}" in at the beginning of the question.
3) It might be possible for you to offer a similar tagging sysem for questioners to help direct them to a list of those who have identified themselves as having expertise in the content of the question (matching against the profiles of members, who have indicated a willingness to answer questions).
4) Again using this keyword taggin system perhaps with a differnt bracketS, like "[KEYWORD]," referral to site links appropriate to the question could be provided.
5) Finally, there is the issue of compensation to the expert. Certainly, questioners should continue to retain the ability to get free answers from the experts who choose to offer their knowledge; on the other hand, experts presented with a need to expend time and effort to answer a complex question, may well be more motivated to do so, if there is an offer of payment presented.
A few suggestions for wondir...
1) Stop deleting people that haven't violated "terms of service"
2) Choose moderators that make decisions based on research instead of rushing to judgement based on personal opinions. Then making excuses like "we're only human" "we have a life outside of wondir"
3) Moderators should follow the same rules as everyone else. They are not gods, nor should they act like they are. Remember, without the members the mods wouldn't be needed.
4) Delete those members that stalk, harrass and instigate trouble and leave their victims alone!
5) Answer emails send to feedback @wondir.com in a timely manner, after doing the research needed. Generalization is losing members and preventing membership to increase.
6) Fix the "report abuse" button and make sure someone follows up on it immediately, otherwise the hateful, stalking posts continue.
7) If someone's screen name is deleted and they send an email to feedback @wondir.com please take the time to research before sending a generic email saying "you've been banned indefinetly from wondir.com for violating the terms of service".
8) If someone signs up using a screen name similiar to another screen name, but only changing the number at the end, don't delete the other users with a screen name that is similiar to their name. Again, research!!
9) If the Mature Content section is for adults, then questions like "what is sex" should be deleted immediately; adults know what sex is.
10) It all boils down to a little common sense. Moderators should use common sense instead of excuses.
Hello,
I have a few suggestions for Wondir.
Moderators should be friendly at all times.
Victims of stalking shouldn't be deleted, only the stalkers.
Stop allowing the Romper Room mentality, we are adults!
Maybe some research before getting button happy when deleting members
Just in the past week Wondir has lost a many members. Not only from the stalking, but also because of the bad attitudes the moderators have. You're not better than anyone else and the members are the ones that make Wondir what it is, not the moderators!
I look forward to the changes, BillyWondir.
Bond Hunter, no need to email you. Anyone can contact the Wondir staff, just by looking in Google. A phone number is listed as well as an address and email for those much higher up then you!
Boy it seems that every time someone gets deleted they are innocent. If you got deleted and ARE innocent you simply address it to wondir via email. Wondir looks into ALL complaints and does investigate both sides of the story. So if you have been told that you are deleted for a reason, you should simply pack up your keyboard and go someplace else. I've gone to the mat for people that didn't deserve to be deleted and they were reinstated, other mods do the same thing. Also try to remember that you always have to ability to ignore those that are baiting you into a pissing match, the only idiot that can cause you to get banned is yourself!
It's a small change, but I find that a lot of users rate things poorly without offering an answer themselves, or improvements on the answer. It'd be nice if a rating were weighed by if they responded also, or something along those lines...
All posts that get suspended and users that get booted should have the 'apparent" offensive material sent to them so the user can understand why and improve their Wondir involement. Booting people without reason is one of the major causes of disgruntled users coming back to cause havoc.
At 10:57 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...
You should be able to see who rated you because you can rate someone over and over just to put their ratings down. They shouldn't be able to just hide behind their computer.
the rating system overall needs to improve. I got rated over 100 times in three days. I was being harassed by someone and nothing got done. There should be a limit to the number of ratings you can give to one person at one time. People abuse the system and it is unfair and hurtful.
Get rid of Answerbus. What a pain in the neck, there are always the same questions over and over and they are often misspelled.
when you get booted, they should tell you why. Its totally unfair that they don't. They should also be more straightforward. I was in the dark for months until I found that "the wondir service is unavailable please check back soon" ment that I was booted.
A search bar would be nice so we don't have to ask the same question.
The filter stinks when it says that a similar question was already asked. Umm no! this is often inaccurate!
